European Union regulators will help companies gauge the size of potential antitrust fines as soon as they accuse them of price-fixing, the EU’s antitrust chief said. Joaquin Almunia, the region’s competition commissioner, said the EU’s formal antitrust complaint, or statement of objections, would in future show the value of sales for the market where companies have agreed a cartel.
